Old Bay crab cakes are one of my favorite seafood dishes. Every time I visit the DMV area (usually during my visits to Washington D.C.) I have to get my fix of Maryland crab cakes. They are so yummy.

This is such a quick and easy recipe. You combine all of the ingredients. Use your hands to form patties and then let the Air Fryer do the rest of work.

I have made crab cakes several times before. This was my first time testing them out in the Air Fryer. If you don’t have an Air Fryer, be sure to check out my Crab Cake Sliders recipe. The ingredients are exactly the same.

What Type of Crab to Use

I prefer to use jumbo lump crab meat. You can use any real crab meat. Crab meat can be found in the refrigerated aisle of the grocery store. Sometimes you will have to ask the butcher for it. I do not recommend imitation crab or canned crab.

Nice lil protein packets from Ms Brandi. If you can make tuna salad, you can level up and make this.

I was so happy to see you posted a recipe for crab cakes in the air fryer! Sadly, we do not eat whole wheat bread crumbs (we eat no grain products at all) - so I wonder if you think pork rind dust/flour would be good as a substitute. I really don't want to ruin a batch of lump crab meat. Thanks!

I've never tried that so I can't tell you definitively. It will probably work, but yes you will have to test it and risk it maybe not turning out how you like.

The fact that these are beyond easy to make is an absolute blessing! I’m not a cook but my son was so intrigued he wanted to help! They’re AMAZING! Like amazingly wonderful in all the right ways. I’m from the north east and currently residing in the South and cannot find a good crab cake to save my life! Now I can make my own! A little piece of home.

Fantastic! There's 5 in my household so I cooked them in a cast iron skillet on the stove top.The recipe is solid! It reminded me of the days when I could order apps at the bar of my favorite restaurant. With a recipe this easy, I can enjoy them whenever the mood strikes.

These crab cakes turned out amazing. I didn’t have eggs so I used chia seeds and a bit of water as a substitute and it worked great.
