Key Ingredients

Here’s why each ingredient plays a key role in making this casserole rich, cheesy, and delicious:

  • Ground Beef – The hearty base of the casserole, ground beef provides protein and a satisfying, meaty texture. Using an 80/20 blend adds great flavor while keeping the dish juicy.
  • Onion – Adds a slight sweetness and depth of flavor to balance the savory beef. Using a small amount keeps it keto-friendly while enhancing the overall taste.
  • Garlic Cloves – Fresh garlic infuses the casserole with rich, aromatic flavor, making each bite more delicious.
  • Worcestershire Sauce – A key ingredient for that classic burger taste, Worcestershire sauce adds a touch of tang, and enhances the beefy richness.
  • Cream Cheese – Makes the casserole ultra-creamy, helping to create a smooth, velvety texture.
  • Eggs – Acts as a binder to hold everything together while adding structure and fluffiness to the casserole.
  • Mustard – A classic burger ingredient, mustard brings a tangy kick that balances the richness of the meat and cheese.
  • Heavy Whipping Cream – Adds richness and a creamy texture while keeping the casserole moist and indulgent. It also helps blend the flavors together.
  • Shredded Cheese – A staple for any cheeseburger-inspired dish, cheddar cheese melts beautifully, adding gooey, cheesy goodness to every bite.
  • Burger Seasoning – A flavorful blend of spices that enhances the beef with classic burger flavors, including hints of smokiness and spice.
  • Salt and Pepper (to taste) – Essential for seasoning and balancing all the flavors in the dish.
  • Bacon – Crispy, smoky bacon takes this casserole to the next level, giving it extra crunch and a bold, savory taste that pairs perfectly with the cheeseburger theme.
  • Pickles – A game-changer! Chopped pickles or pickle slices makes the casserole taste just like a loaded cheeseburger.

Substitutions, Variations, and Add-In Ideas

  • Ground Turkey, Ground Chicken, or Ground Pork – Swap for a leaner option or change up the flavor profile while keeping it keto-friendly.
  • Green Onions
  • Coconut Aminos or Soy Sauce – Coconut aminos offer a slightly sweeter taste, while soy sauce provides a similar umami depth.
  • Sour Cream or Greek Yogurt – Equal parts can be used to replace cream cheese. Both add creaminess with a slightly tangy twist.
  • Dijon Mustard or Spicy Brown Mustard – For a bolder, tangier kick.
  • Pepper Jack, Colby Jack, or Gouda – Any melty cheese will work, so choose based on your flavor preference.
  • Turkey Bacon or Pancetta – Use turkey bacon for a leaner option or pancetta for a richer, saltier taste.
  • Pickled Jalapeños or Banana Peppers – For a spicier, tangy twist.
  • Diced Tomatoes (or Ro-Tel) – For a Tex-Mex twist with extra flavor.
  • Jalapeños or Red Pepper Flakes – Adds a spicy kick!
  • Chopped Mushrooms – Gives a meaty texture while keeping it low-carb.
  • Crumbled Cooked Sausage – A great way to mix in more protein and flavor.
  • Avocado Slices – Add on top after baking for extra flavor.
  • Ranch Seasoning – A fun way to add a creamy, herby flavor.
  • Crushed Pork Rinds – Sprinkle on top for extra crunch, mimicking a burger bun texture.

    OMG OMG OMG!

Wow, was this recipe amazing! I love casseroles, and I love burgers, so this was a win. And like all good burgers, the pickles are a must! I added some on top for the extra crunch, lol.

Prep time was a breeze. I think in total in took me roughly a half hour start to finish - which is a win in my book!

Amazing recipe I will be adding to my permanent rotation, thank you! I will be checking all of your recipes now. I wanted to Verify that one serving = 2 net carbs, and 27g protein? The protein seems high but it’s worth it. My carb counter says one serving is almost 5net carbs but that can’t be correct.

The only thing I didn’t add was the bacon because I don’t eat pork but this is soooo good. I’m actually typing this review & eating at the same time…LOL!

Oh my word!! This is amazing??? I used this recipe from @stay_snatched and I can tell you, you won't be disappointed ?? My daughter is on this keto/low carb journey with me and she's a very difficult customer ?? and she said 'Mommy this is better than pizza' so now you know??
I served it with guacamole and jalapeño as well. ??

Can you pre-make this and place it in the freezer for a future day use? It is quick and easy to put together, however it is easier for my family to place it in the oven on evenings when I work?

I wouldn't do that. It's a really simple recipe to pull together for a quick meal.

I had a ton of extra beef and didnt know what to do with it so i googled and found this recipe! I had nearly all the ingredients but I didn't have enough cheese so I used American/Processed Cheese as the topping. I also added MUCH more bacon and much more beef because i had so much to use up. It filled the casserole dish to the brim for a nice thick slice. OH and I added one small can of drained fire roasted tomatoes. YUM

I love this recipe and have made it a few times. It taste like a real cheeseburger without the carbs, of course! I also add pickles and cheese on top. Thanks!

This was a hit for my whole family! Even my twins - who hate melted cheese 🙄 - liked it! (I left off the cheese topping on half of the casserole). This recipe will be going on repeat!

Just made this recipe! So delicious and so easy! My favorite thing about Brandi’s recipes (this was my 4th) is that they are so quick and fool proof for a novice cook like me. I even took a note from Brandi and bought a grater and grated my cheese and it melted beautifully and didn’t have any of the nasty preservatives that the pre-shredded cheese has. I LOVE burgers and this dish gives you all the flavors and cheesy-ness but none of the carbs. Big fan!

This recipe is great. I’ve been watching Stay Snatched IG for some time and was waiting on the right recipe to try. I saw this and instantly knew it was the one. I’m so glad I jumped on board. This was so good and my family loved it. I’ll definitely be making this again!!

Very tasty dish. My husband doesn't think he needs to be on a diet. So sometimes I like to surprise him with keto dishes without his knowledge. This was perfect..."This tastes just like a cheeseburger pizza without the crust" was his comment. We both loved it.
    Thank you!

I made this recipe exactly as written except I had some blue cheese crumbles and put them on too. This will absolutely be in our dinner rotation. Quick, easy, delicious! I would like to make it ahead for the RV do you think it will separate if I don’t bake it the same day?

This recipe was delicious! Definitely husband approved. We debated all of the variations of this recipe we could come up with while enjoying our meal. Mushroom and Swiss is definitely a contender for our next go round. The recipe was easy to follow and came together quickly. No crazy unique ingredients to hunt down, just the way I like it. Thanks for sharing!!!

Super recipe! My beef was already cooked so I didn’t get to do the onion and garlic, I added the wor. to the sauce part, and thinly sliced onions and put them on the top, I also didn’t have cream cheese on hand and it still turned out amazing!!! Thanks!
