When I first started using the air fryer back in 2016, people thought I was wild for tossing just about everything in there. Fast forward, and here I am showing you how to make a glazed ham that’s juicy, tender, and caramelized in all the right places. Growing up in a Southern kitchen, honey ham was always on the table for holidays, so I know exactly how it should taste. I’ve done the testing so you don’t have to, this recipe works, and it’s the one you’ll want to pull out for every holiday.

Air Fryer Glazed Ham Ingredients
- Boneless Fully Cooked Ham: Look for a ham that's fully cooked and around 3 to 4 pounds. A 5-pound ham may not fit many air fryer models without slicing it down some. The size ham you may want to use will vary based on the air fryer model you own. If you don't want the hassle of slicing up the ham, look for one that is pre-sliced.
- Honey
- Brown Sugar or Sweetener
- Ground Cinnamon and Cloves
- Cornstarch
- Foil


How to Make Air Fryer Honey Glazed Ham

- Prep the ham. Start with a boneless, fully cooked ham around 3–4 pounds (or whatever size fits your air fryer). If your ham is larger, slice it into smaller sections so it doesn’t touch the heating element. If it’s pre-sliced, even better, it makes glazing easier.
- Make the glaze. In a small bowl, mix together honey, brown sugar (or sweetener), and ground cloves until it forms a thick glaze.
- Coat the ham. Place the ham in a piece of foil large enough to wrap it up but still leave the top exposed. Brush the glaze generously over the ham, making sure it gets into the slices if your ham is pre-cut.
- Air fry. Place the foil-wrapped ham in the basket or tray, leaving the top slightly open so air can circulate. Cook for 10-15 minutes per pound, brushing with more glaze halfway through.
- Caramelize the glaze. For the last 5–10 minutes, open the foil completely so the top of the ham is exposed. This will let the glaze bubble and caramelize into that sticky, golden crust.
- Rest and serve. Carefully remove the ham from the air fryer and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Spoon over any extra glaze from the foil and serve.





Air Fryer Honey Glazed Ham
Ingredients
- 3-4 pounds fully cooked ham I love to use boneless, spiral cut because it's easier.
- ½ cup honey
- ½ cup brown sugar or sweetener
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground cloves
- ¼ cup water
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons water
- foil
Instructions
- Combine the honey, brown sugar (or sweetener), ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ¼ cup water in a saucepan at medium heat. Stir until the sweetener has dissolved.½ cup honey, ½ cup brown sugar or sweetener, ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon ground cloves, ¼ cup water
- Combine 2 tablespoons of cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Stir until fully combined and then add the mixture to the glaze. Stir. Turn the heat off the pan and stir until the glaze becomes thick.2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water
- If your ham comes with netting you can leave it on during the initial cooking process. Glaze the ham using a cooking brush with ½ of the honey glaze mixture and wrap the ham tightly in foil.3-4 pounds fully cooked ham, foil
- Place the foil-wrapped ham in the air fryer basket. Air fry for 40 minutes at 300 degrees.
- Open up the air fryer and remove the foil (and the netting from around the ham, if you have it). Glaze the ham again with the remaining glaze. (I had to warm the glaze slightly to get it gooey again).
- Air fry the ham for an additional 5 minutes (uncovered) at 400 degrees.
- Remove the ham from the air fryer. Allow the ham to rest for at least 10 minutes before serving. Save any glaze drippings from the air fryer basket or foil. I like to drizzle this over the finished ham slices.

Frequently Asked Questions and Air Fryer Ham Recipe Pro Tips
Nope! Most hams sold in grocery stores are already fully cooked. You’re really just reheating it and adding flavor with the glaze. Always check the packaging to be sure.
Yes! You can cook the ham, let it cool, and store it in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat slices in the air fryer or oven, brushing on a little extra glaze.
A 3–5 pound boneless ham (half ham or small spiral) works best in a 5–6 quart basket-style air fryer. This size can usually handle a small ham, especially if it’s flat-cut or boneless. I use this 7 quart air fryer.
You can, but they’re usually larger and tricky to fit into an air fryer. Boneless hams are easier to manage and slice.
Start with 300 degrees. To lock in the brown sugar, honey glaze use 400 degrees for 5 minutes.
I used a 4-pound ham and cooked it for a total of 40 minutes prior to applying the additional glaze to fully brown the ham. I recommend that you adjust your cook time to 10 minutes per pound, based on the size of your ham.
Wrap it in foil while cooking, leaving the top slightly open. This locks in moisture while still letting the glaze caramelize.
Brown sugar and honey are classic, but you can swap in a sugar substitute if you want to cut the carbs. The honey is what gives it that glossy, sticky finish.
No, ground cloves add a warm, spiced flavor, but you can leave them out or swap in a little cinnamon or allspice if you prefer.
