Before my blogging days, I was constantly frustrated with how difficult it was to purchase food and products that weren’t loaded with a lot of things we don’t really need. I found it very hard to set macro goals that I could reach while relying on store-bought products.
I then learned that many food necessities have to be prepared at home and from “scratch.” Things like homemade protein bars were the first thing I experimented with.
For this low-carb ranch dressing, I combined a handful of ingredients, many of which I had on hand at home, and it turned out perfectly! I actually prefer this dressing to store-bought and I wish I had come up with this recipe sooner!
I have made keto-ish ranch dressing as a dipping sauce in the past using the seasoning packets from Hidden Valley. The dip was great, but the carb count just isn’t as low as I would like it to be.
I decided I needed to come up with my own ranch dressing. I also wanted something I could use on salads.
While doing strict keto, my salad dressing is typically olive oil and maybe a spritz of fresh lemon. Don’t get me wrong, I love this combo! But it’s nice to have options, especially while committing to keto!
The first time I experimented with this recipe I paired it Keto Buffalo Chicken Wings. My goodness, it was incredible!
I know a lot of people like to pair their wings with blue cheese. I have nothing against blue cheese, but for my wings I am going to roll with ranch every single time. #TeamRanch
Keto Low-Carb Ranch Dressing Tips
Play around with the ingredients some. I found this to be the perfect combination for me, but you may want something a little different. Try adding ½ of the suggested serving for each of the spices. Taste the dressing and adjust from there. This is what I do when I experiment and compile a recipe. You can always add more, but it’s much more difficult to unwind what is already done.

- Combine all of the ingredients in a medium or large bowl.
- Stir well.
- Refrigerate for at least a couple of hours if you wish to serve it chilled. I have used this dressing without chilling it first when pairing the dressing with buffalo wings.
