How to Make Tacos Keto Friendly
The best way to eliminate the carbs from tacos is to ditch the tortillas or taco shell. You can create your own keto taco shells, but more on that later!
I like to pair my taco meat with Cilantro Lime Cauliflower rice because….hello?! Have you been to Chipotle? Their version is unmatched, but you can come really close to a low carb alternative with this recipe.
I also like to make my own taco seasoning using chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, and garlic powder. A lot of pre-mixed taco seasonings have additives that aren’t healthy. The best-premixed taco seasoning I have found is the Trader Joe’s brand.
How to Make Keto Low Carb Taco Bowls
1. You will need chopped garlic, chopped onions, ground beef, and the spices noted above.
2. Cook the onions and garlic until fragrant.
3. Add the ground beef with the seasonings. Break down the beef and cook until it is no longer pink.
4. Pair the cooked beef with cauliflower rice
How to Make Keto Taco Seasoning
Combine the following: chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper. I like to add red pepper as well for additional spice.

Without the cauliflower rice, this dish has 3 net carbs per serving. This is the ground beef with the homemade taco seasonings. The carb count is very low.

Yes, you can freeze the ground beef and the cauliflower rice separately. Prior to freezing, make sure you have drained all excess fat and wait until the beef reaches room temperature. - 1 pound Butcher Box ground beef
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
Homemade Taco Seasoning
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon red pepper optional spicy
- 1 /2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- salt and pepper to taste
- sour cream
- authentic salsa

Place a skillet on medium-high heat. Add the olive oil, chopped onions, and garlic.
Cook for 2-3 minutes until fragrant. Add the Butcher Box ground beef and all of the homemade taco seasonings.
