How Long Do You Cook Garlic Bread in Air Fryer

This air fryer pull apart garlic bread only takes 5 minutes to cook!

package of Trader Joe's sourdough bread

I found this sourdough loaf at Trader Joe's for only $2. I've never seen it in the past, so I'm not sure if it's put out seasonally or if they always have it. If not, you can typically find sourdough at any bakery.

How to Cook Garlic Bread in Air Fryer

  1. I recommend that you use sourdough bread. It's great for pull apart bread and should fit nicely in your air fryer.
  2. Once you've got your bread, test out placing it in the air fryer to be sure it will fit. You may have to slice off a portion of an edge to get it to fit.
  3. You will need to use a serrated bread knife when slicing the bread. If you don't, you will likely find it difficult to slice. Lay the bread horizontal, and make diagonal cuts across the bread. Avoid the edges of the bread (about 1 inch from the corners. Turn the bread around and make diagonal cuts the other way to create small diamond shapes.
  4. Combine melted butter, olive oil, garlic, Italian Seasoning, salt and butter in a bowl. Use a cooking brush and glaze the inside of the bread with the mixture.
  5. Next, add mozzarella cheese. You can use shredded cheese or cubed. Cubed cheese is a lot easier to stuff into the bread, but I prefer to use shredded because it melts easier. If using shredded you can try stuffing the cheese into the bread with a butter knife.
  6. Air fry the bread.

Garlic Bread Air Fryer Temperature

I like to cook the bread on 350 degrees.

How to Cook Frozen Garlic Bread in Air Fryer

Load the frozen garlic bread into the air fryer and follow the cook time noted below.

How Long Do You Cook Frozen Garlic Bread in Air Fryer?

If you are making frozen Texas Toast garlic bread, the bread will take 5-6 minutes to cook.

Can You Freeze Air Fryer Garlic Bread?

Yes, the bread will last in the freezer for 3-6 months but will lose its flavor after about a month. You can read more about The Best Way to Freeze Bread here.

Pair this air fryer garlic bread with Air Fryer Ribs, Air Fryer Catfish, or Air Fryer Chicken Tenders.

Air Fryer Garlic Bread Tips:

  • Measure and test your bread out first to be sure it will fit your air fryer. If the bread is too large you can trim it down some.
  • You can use any bread that you like, just be sure it fits your air fryer.
  • Be careful not to slice totally through the bread. If you notice a portion was sliced down too far, you can use a toothpick to hold the bread together.
  • Feel free to add more cheese if you want more!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter or ghee (healthier alternative to butter)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 loaf sourdough bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese You can also use cubed cheese, but I prefer shredded.

Instructions

  • Melt the butter in a small bowl in the microwave for about 15-30 seconds.
  • Add olive oil, garlic, parsley, Italian Seasoning, salt and pepper to the butter and stir.
  • Place the bread down flat, horizontally. Cut the bread using a serrated bread knife diagonally, about ⅔rds of the way through the bread, without cutting through the bread. Avoid the edges of the bread (about 1 inch from the corners). Turn the bread around and make diagonal cuts the other way to create small diamond shapes.
  • Load the garlic olive oil butter into the cracks and crevices throughout the bread. I used a cooking brush.
  • Next, add the cheese into each of the cracks. You can use shredded cheese or cubed. Cubed cheese is a lot easier to stuff into the bread, but I prefer to use shredded because it melts easier. If using shredded you can try stuffing the cheese into the bread with a butter knife.
  • Place the bread in the air fryer. Cook on 350 degrees for 5 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  • Cool before serving.

  • If you would like to have a bunch of pull apart areas of the bread, create a lot of slices in the bread, closer together. For large pull apart areas, make less slices in the bread.
  • Feel free to add more cheese if you want more!

Okay, so Dominoe’s cheesy bread is my weakness and I tend to want to have it once a week. This recipe will definitely take its place!

Easy steps. Easy cooking (don’t have to stand in the kitchen to watch!) - always a win.

What is great about this recipe is that you really can’t mess it up. It doesn’t have to be “pretty!” I plan on pairing it with Brandi’s Spaghetti Squash and Meatballs for dinner this week 🙂

I made this yesterday and it was delicious, super easy and super SUPER quick! I used ciabatta bread because that’s what I could find quickly and I used fresh mozzarella balls which did take a little longer to melt but still so good and I can’t wait to make it again. Thanks Brandi!!!

OMG! I love all things carby and cheesy and this bread ticks every single delicious box!! I actually used a round Italian loaf and my son and I had it for dinner. Nothing with it, just the bread! 🤣 Making it again tonight with pasta and I'm using TJs ciabatta rolls as individual servings.
