I’m a mix of a self‑taught cook with heavy influence from watching my mother and grandmothers throw down in the kitchen. I'm based in the Midwest, though my heart is forever Southern. My journey led me to write The Super Easy Air Fryer Cookbook and even share tips on Good Morning America (You can check out my best meal prep tips here). But what really keeps me cooking is simple: I love feeding people food that hits home; comforting, delicious, and made without too much hassle.
Whether you grew up on boxed dinners or family recipes passed down by heart, I want you to know this:

I started this website to share the recipes I make at home to live a consistently balanced lifestyle. I also wanted to share tips and tricks on how to make some of my favorite Southern soul food classic meals a little lighter and more approachable for the everyday home cook.
Every single recipe you find on this website has been developed and tested by me. This is very important because the online world has changed so much since I launched this website in 2016. With the emergence of A.I. and food bloggers who outsource the majority of their recipes, I have remained dedicated and true to my commitment to share authentic, quality meals that you can trust actually work. I make the recipes, I take the photos, and I record the videos. I'm a real person, just like you.
Outside of the kitchen you can find me in my home gym blasting R&B and hip hop music or traveling the world. I love to move my body daily with a mix of cycling, walking, strength training, weightlifting, and pilates. Travel is one of my favorite hobbies. I often pick up so much recipe inspiration during my trips.
