  • 1 pound fresh asparagus Ends trimmed.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil Divided

Homemade BBQ Rub

Instructions

  • Preheat grill to 400 degrees.
  • Gather a large piece of foil, it should be large enough to fully store the asparagus while wrapped.
  • Drizzle 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil onto the bottom of the piece of foil. Place the asparagus on the foil.
  • Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of olive oil over the asparagus and sprinkle the spices throughout. Rub the asparagus to ensure the oil and spices are coated.
  • Fold up the foil packet and ensure all of the sides are completely sealed.
  • Grill for 15 minutes. Halfway through, flip the asparagus and continue grilling on the other side.
  • Cool before serving.

Notes

  • You can use a 1/2 -1 tablespoon of your favorite BBQ rub or whatever spices and seasoning you wish.
  • You can add other vegetables to the foil packet along with the asparagus. Potatoes will not work because they have a longer cook time.
  • You can take a peek in on the veggies to gauge doneness. Keep in mind, each time you open the grill, it will lose some of its heat and temperature. This could add a little to the cook time.
  • If your asparagus is stringy and mushy,  you cooked it too long or the temperature was too high. Adjust.
