I am always on the hunt for new breakfast recipes. I tend to eat the same thing for breakfast each day. It should come as no surprise that I occasionally get burned out on eating the same thing over and over. This recipe is a major win because not only does it work great for breakfast, but it is a great pre or post workout snack. I usually complete my workouts in the morning. I shower and then drive into work. My commute is about 30 minutes. I am usually dying to eat something during this time. By the time I complete my workout, shower, commute to work, and then finally get settled, almost two hours have passed.
These energy balls travel well so they are perfect to eat on-the-go. I placed the balls in a small Ziploc bag in the refrigerator. Over time, the balls will soften at room temperature. If you plan to have the energy balls sitting out for an extended period of time you should consider freezing them advance.
I LOVE fruit, but it is not always convenient for busy lifestyles. You have to wash it. Who has access to a sink when you are on-the-go? Crispy Green is the perfect cure. The freeze dried fruit at Crispy Green retains most of the ingredients you would receive from fresh fruit and can fit easily in a purse or gym bag.

Peanut Butter Banana Protein Energy Balls
- 2 bags Crispy Green Crispy Fruit Banana
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
- 3 scoops protein powder
- 2 tbsp raw honey
- Add the Crispy Green bananas to a blender. Blend until a powdered substance is formed.
- Combine all of the ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir until fully combined.
- Use the mixture to form 8 balls.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Serve.
